More fun at the Cottage

A few weekends ago Jared and I took a trip "Up North" to see Scott, JoAnn and Grandma Betty. We had a lot of fun doing the usual cottage activities. Sleeping, eating, reading, basically fabulous relaxation. We did a few other new activities..

Jared doing a little target practice.

Me shooting my first gun

We went out cruising on the frozen lake

My hot cabin gear.. I didn't have any warm clothes to wear out on the 4-wheeler, so I took what I could get.

Here's one to tell the kids...

For those of you who have always lived in a home that was built after 1930, you won't know what is going on in these pictures... To give you all a little insight to living in Milwaukee: The winters are brutally cold and the houses old and not insulated. You really can feel a breeze of cold air when you sit by a closed window. In attempt to help insulate we put plastic on the windows. It sounds funny, but it really helps. How it works is you put double sided tape around the window, then put up a sheet of plastic and then you use the blow dyer to shrink it.

It's a lot of fun!

Our Christmas Tree

This was Jared and I's first Christmas tree. We are pretty excited about it.

Our family in front of our tree.

Yeah it's been a long time!

So since it has been such a long time, here are some random pictures...

Seamus and Jared riding in the car.

This is a pile of leaves by our house. You can't see the whole thing, but it's about as big as our Mazda 3. We thought it was cool.

Happy Thanksgiving

Yes, I know it is the end of December and I am posting Thanksgiving pictures, but I didn't realize it had been so long... We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We headed "Up North" to Scott and JoAnn's cottage. It was a fabulous traditional Thanksgiving. The food was delicious! I don't think I've ever enjoyed Thanksgiving food so much.

That's right. I put olives on my fingers and ate them that way. The only problem is, olives don't fit as well on my fingers as they did when I was younger.

This is another picture of me with olives on my fingers, but you can't really see them against Jared's black shirt.

This is the road to the cottage. It is pretty ideal.

That's right, Another Wedding.

On Saturday November 7,2009 Nathan and Sydnie got married in the Draper, Utah Temple. It was a quick trip, but we were very grateful that we could be there and share the day.

Aren't they handsome devils..

And the Parentals

Jared with Abby. She is Jared's niece, and has him wrapped so tightly around her little finger. It is pretty cute.
