Update?..

Ok I'm a huge slacker when it comes to blogging. Jared and I have had a pretty busy last few months. So here goes trying to update you on all the happenings.

To start: In March Jared celebrated his 30 birthday! Our good friend Jake also turned 30. So Jake's wife Jill and I threw them a big party! We had a funeral for their youth. It was a blast. We all dressed in black, read eulogies and made the boys their favorite meal: Cafe Rio.

Jared's memorial wreath and urn..

Then in April my best friend got married. The wedding was gorgeous and I was so grateful to be there to celebrate with her and our other best friend Rachel.

Love these girls!!!

May was a sad-ish month for us, we got to celebrate some of our friends graduating from medical school. But then they moved away.. Except Phil and Tiffany. SO glad they stayed!!!! We miss you Jake and Jill, Judd and Haley, Dave and Kelsey!

Other happenings:

Chocolate Fest! Big let down. We are thinking it's Chocolate Fest, so there will be chocolate all over. Right? WRONG! One tiny little tent with a few chocolate booths. Totally lame.

We went to the zoo with Phil and Tiffany.

We also celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary

Spent the 4th of July at the Cottage with Phil and Tiffany

Went to Mall of America. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. All in one building. Need I say more?

In July my sister Julie had a little baby boy, Asher. He is adorable! Julie had a difficult pregnancy and ended up delivering the baby 2 months early. There were some scary moments, but mom and baby are healthy and happy.

While home I got to spend time with some of my favorite people: Julie, Adrien, Mom, Duane, Adam, Bryson, Dad, Lai, Tommy, and this darling girl just might be my favorite

More to come. This just catches you up until August.

Fall

Fall 2010 started out great with a visit from my mom and Duane. We went to The Elegant Farmer. Which wasn't very elegant.. Mostly just crowded, but we stocked up on plenty of yummy treats so it was worth the drive.

In November Alyssa, Clay, Britney, Josh, Julie and Bryson all came to visit! It was SO fun!!! I met them in Chicago on Friday. We spent the day seeing the sights and eating delicious deep dish pizza.

Yay for a sissies trip!

Look at the beautiful people. Oh I miss your faces..

Then, Saturday we went to the University of Utah vs. Notre Dame football game. We had a blast walking around the Notre Dame campus. It is beautiful.

Look at all the red.

It rained the whole time, but we still had fun.

Foot long, get your foot long. Yes, Twizzler makes foot long licorice. It is so tasty!

Update

So.. I just might be back to blogging. I was having "technical" difficulties.. Anyway, I finally logged back in and found this post from November. Don't worry the pictures are from August. Yeah, I'm a slacker. My goal is to blog at least once a month. A little ambitious for me, I know. But I'm hopeful. So with out much ado.. Here is my post from November.

In August we went to The Villages to visit my Dad and step-mom Lai. We had lots of fun boating, eating, swimming in the ocean and just hanging out

Eating at Finn's

In August we went to Nauvoo with my mom and Duane. It is a beautiful place and I highly recommend everyone visit.

Wisconsin State Fair

State Fair around here is a BIG deal. Everyone goes multiple times and the food is unbelievable. The deep fry EVERYTHING and put it on a stick. Jared and I had our first State Fair experience and it will never be forgotten...

This is Haley with her 3 cups of milk. Wisconsin is dairy land - the people here like their dairy. On of the big "attractions" of State Fair is the milk. They have a stand where you can purchase cups of milk for $0.25. You can choose from the following flavors: banana, strawberry, cherry vanilla, chocolate and root beer. The root beer was my personal favorite, followed closely by banana.

Yes, you are reading the sign correctly. Chocolate covered bacon. We were not brave enough to try this. But really, does that sound appetizing at all?

Here are the boys with Krispy Kreme Doughnut Hamburgers. That's right, a hamburger where Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the bun. I will say it was not as bad as it sounds. Jared also has a deep fried PB&J on a stick, it was SO good. The PB&J was one of my favorites of the night.

Creme Puffs are a State Fair staple. They are HUGE! And so delicious.

Jared's favorite are the creme puffs. What is with the pinky finger, Jared?

Another first for Jared was the giant turkey leg.

This is the deep fried s'more on a stick. This was also way too delicious.

Of course we viewed the local livestock.

The horses were all dressed up

This is deep fried apple pie on a stick. Also one of my favorites.

And last, but not least, the deep fried oreos. Also, way too delicious. You'll notice Jared's face looks rather concerned, it's because he can feel his arteries hardening with each fried bite.

I'm Back

Ok, so I've had a 5 month break from blogging. Jared and I have been busy here, but I have no pictures to show. This happens to us all the time. We been running around doing things, but I'm not sure what.. I feel like I have nothing to share. But after some consideration, here are some highlights from the past few months:

1. Our crazy trip "Up North". The weekend before fathers day, Jared and I drove to the cottage in northern WI to surprise Jared's dad. It was a lot of fun to see him and have an early fathers day celebration. I quick 4 hour drive Saturday afternoon and then drove home Sunday night. Totally worth it!

2. The trip back to Utah was fabulous.

3. Festa Italiana! Milwaukee is all about the festivals. There is Summer fest, German fest, Polish fest, Italian fest, Irish fest and plenty more. Basically my goal is to go to them all. So far we have Italian fest under our belt. Not very productive this year with the festivals.

4. We saw Wicked! It was AMAZING! I loved it so much.

5. Lots of grilling. There is nothing better than sitting in the back yard grilling dinner on the Weber.

4th of July

This year, Jared and I were lucky enough to go back to Utah for my favorite holiday. It was lots of fun seeing family and spending the 4th of July at home.

Jared with his two brothers and sister.

Jared with his nieces and nephew.

We had lots of fun with sparklers.

Go Jazz?

That is right! Except the Jazz did not play all that well....
A couple of weeks ago we went to see the Milwaukee Bucks play the Utah Jazz. We went with an awesome group of friends. We had tons of fun! Our seats were about as far away as you can get, but it was still fun to see our home team (the Jazz) play. Sadly Milwaukee won. Oh well, better luck next year, eh?
