After 4 days in Edinburgh, Scotland we flew to Southampton, England and continued on to Wickham, England were Adam (my bro-in-law) grew up.

We went for a walk in the woods near Jane Austen's house. I was a little lonesome for Jared...


We only got to spend one day in London, but what a day it was! We saw it all. Tower of London, London Bridge, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament. Ok we didn't go into all of those places, but we drove by.

Happy 4th of July

I love the 4th of July. It is up there for my very favorite holiday. This year Jared's whole family came out to Wisconsin for the week. We had lots of fun boating, tubing, jet skiing, fishing, playing games and just being with family. Thank you Scott and JoAnn for a fabulous time!

1st Anniversary

June 24th was our 1-year anniversary! It was a great day. We bought some steaks for dinner and then went to a movie. Thanks to my great mother, we also enjoyed the top of our wedding cake. It actually wasn't bad! Not as good as the day it was made but for being frozen for a year it was good.

Gone up North

Last weekend Jared and I went "up north" (as we say it here in Wisconsin). Our great friends Dave and Summer Smart joined us on a visit to Scott and JoAnn's fabulous cottage. Now, when Jared gets "up north" all he wants to do is chop wood. Lucky for Jared and Dave, Scott had a tree in the yard that needed to be chopped down.

They're Bloomin'... almost

I've done yard work all my life. Not going to lie, it's never been my favorite thing and I've never been very good at keeping plants alive. But I've always loved what a vegetable garden produced. I was sad that I'm too far away to enjoy the fruits (and veggies) of my mothers labor. Well, my sweet mother sent me seeds for zucchini and squash because she knows how much I love them. So Jared and I planted the seeds and have been waiting for them to start growing. I was getting a little nervous because it had been about 2 weeks and there was nothing but dirt. But by some miracle we are starting to see some growth! We'll keep you posted on our progress.

The plan for the bike

So when I bought my bike I had this picture in my head of being able to ride the bike with Seamus running next to it and Gus in a basket riding with me. Well... Seamus is deathly scared of the bike. He won't go near it. This is a picture of the carrier that I found for Gus. Needless to say, Gus and the carrier didn't get along very well. So I'm back to square one.

I Bought a Bike!

I'm so excited. I just bought this vintage cruiser bike. It's not in the best condition... Ok it is kind of a piece, but I love it! Jared and I went and picked it up tonight. It wasn't too far from our house and Jared being the sweet husband he is, rode it all the way home for me. It was probably a good 2 mile ride, on a bike that is obviously too small for him. Thanks sweetheart! I can't wait to ride it myself!
