Update

So.. I just might be back to blogging. I was having "technical" difficulties.. Anyway, I finally logged back in and found this post from November. Don't worry the pictures are from August. Yeah, I'm a slacker. My goal is to blog at least once a month. A little ambitious for me, I know. But I'm hopeful. So with out much ado.. Here is my post from November.

In August we went to The Villages to visit my Dad and step-mom Lai. We had lots of fun boating, eating, swimming in the ocean and just hanging out

In August we went to Nauvoo with my mom and Duane. It is a beautiful place and I highly recommend everyone visit.

Wisconsin State Fair

State Fair around here is a BIG deal. Everyone goes multiple times and the food is unbelievable. The deep fry EVERYTHING and put it on a stick. Jared and I had our first State Fair experience and it will never be forgotten...

This is Haley with her 3 cups of milk. Wisconsin is dairy land - the people here like their dairy. On of the big "attractions" of State Fair is the milk. They have a stand where you can purchase cups of milk for $0.25. You can choose from the following flavors: banana, strawberry, cherry vanilla, chocolate and root beer. The root beer was my personal favorite, followed closely by banana.

Yes, you are reading the sign correctly. Chocolate covered bacon. We were not brave enough to try this. But really, does that sound appetizing at all?

Here are the boys with Krispy Kreme Doughnut Hamburgers. That's right, a hamburger where Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the bun. I will say it was not as bad as it sounds. Jared also has a deep fried PB&J on a stick, it was SO good. The PB&J was one of my favorites of the night.

Creme Puffs are a State Fair staple. They are HUGE! And so delicious.

Jared's favorite are the creme puffs. What is with the pinky finger, Jared?

Another first for Jared was the giant turkey leg.

This is the deep fried s'more on a stick. This was also way too delicious.

Of course we viewed the local livestock.

The horses were all dressed up

This is deep fried apple pie on a stick. Also one of my favorites.

And last, but not least, the deep fried oreos. Also, way too delicious. You'll notice Jared's face looks rather concerned, it's because he can feel his arteries hardening with each fried bite.

I'm Back

Ok, so I've had a 5 month break from blogging. Jared and I have been busy here, but I have no pictures to show. This happens to us all the time. We been running around doing things, but I'm not sure what.. I feel like I have nothing to share. But after some consideration, here are some highlights from the past few months:

1. Our crazy trip "Up North". The weekend before fathers day, Jared and I drove to the cottage in northern WI to surprise Jared's dad. It was a lot of fun to see him and have an early fathers day celebration. I quick 4 hour drive Saturday afternoon and then drove home Sunday night. Totally worth it!

2. The trip back to Utah was fabulous.

3. Festa Italiana! Milwaukee is all about the festivals. There is Summer fest, German fest, Polish fest, Italian fest, Irish fest and plenty more. Basically my goal is to go to them all. So far we have Italian fest under our belt. Not very productive this year with the festivals.

4. We saw Wicked! It was AMAZING! I loved it so much.

5. Lots of grilling. There is nothing better than sitting in the back yard grilling dinner on the Weber.

4th of July

This year, Jared and I were lucky enough to go back to Utah for my favorite holiday. It was lots of fun seeing family and spending the 4th of July at home.

Jared with his two brothers and sister.

Jared with his nieces and nephew.

We had lots of fun with sparklers.

Go Jazz?

That is right! Except the Jazz did not play all that well....
A couple of weeks ago we went to see the Milwaukee Bucks play the Utah Jazz. We went with an awesome group of friends. We had tons of fun! Our seats were about as far away as you can get, but it was still fun to see our home team (the Jazz) play. Sadly Milwaukee won. Oh well, better luck next year, eh?

More fun at the Cottage

A few weekends ago Jared and I took a trip "Up North" to see Scott, JoAnn and Grandma Betty. We had a lot of fun doing the usual cottage activities. Sleeping, eating, reading, basically fabulous relaxation. We did a few other new activities..

Jared doing a little target practice.

Me shooting my first gun

We went out cruising on the frozen lake

My hot cabin gear.. I didn't have any warm clothes to wear out on the 4-wheeler, so I took what I could get.

Here's one to tell the kids...

For those of you who have always lived in a home that was built after 1930, you won't know what is going on in these pictures... To give you all a little insight to living in Milwaukee: The winters are brutally cold and the houses old and not insulated. You really can feel a breeze of cold air when you sit by a closed window. In attempt to help insulate we put plastic on the windows. It sounds funny, but it really helps. How it works is you put double sided tape around the window, then put up a sheet of plastic and then you use the blow dyer to shrink it.

It's a lot of fun!
